In the first Unique show since the appointment of Kate Phelan, previously Fashion Director at British Vogue, as Creative Director, Fall 2012 saw yet another strong collection from the high street giant Topshop. With a packed front row of young celebrities and high profile international editors, it seems many are taking heed of Topshop's demand to be considered as a serious design force amongst some of London's most creative and sucsessful talents.
And, rightly so. Unique has garnered international attention for the quality and concepts of it's catwalk collections and AW12 is no different. With a disctinct utilitarian vein, highlighted by statement trench coats, thick noted belts and workwear boots, AW12 see's a move away from Spring/Summer's Cleopatra inspired metallics to a more muted pallette of blacks, greys and military greens.
With textured cocktail dresses interwoven between heavy coats, knits and leather; hourglasses sillhouettes fused with oversized outerwear and shirt dresses, Topshop Unique ticked every box.
