The crowd flooded into Highline Studios in the heart of the Meatpacking District as Fashionistas with a capital F and industry heavyweights (spotted, Bergdorf's head buyer) patiently lined up under the nippy night sky for a glimpse of Jen Kao's winter collection.
It was a true celebration of the feminine mystique. Luxurious fabrics like green silk, black lace and decadent fur subtly played up the va va voom factor while sleek black leather and thick black belts reigned in the seduction. Above all, Kao's winter collection was about attitude and power; if these ensemble could talk, they would proudly voice, "I don't give a damn" (just as Kao concludes her own poem, which she included in the program). Of course, the details are what held it all together- black tipped hair, space-dyed knits, felt baseball cloches and more fringes! Kao's collection is not for the timid, but rather, for the woman who seeks seduction and isn't afraid to show it.
