                                                                                                                                      it was like a floating dream. tadashi shoji's homage to the elite sophistication of old world 1930's shanghai was stunning with his use of fabrics-like silk, opulent velvet and lace-as well as elegant colors including ginger-beige, romantic red and demure hazel. tiered column gowns, dropped waists and extended hemlines were among the design details that supported the vintage classic theme. standouts include the honey dress layered with black chiffon, which produced an elegantly voluminous effect, as well as the green velvet column gown which exuded feminine power in the simplicity of its rouching and body-hugging form.
