Leutton Postle Fall 2012 is as playful as ever. Crazy textures in a muted colour palette with vivid mint, yellow, claret and pink supported by shiny silver and gold, made sure that the designer duo would not end up as a wallflower at London Fashion Week. Quite the opposite: camel pom-pom t-shirts, sack socks, leather tassel jumpers, super shiny trousers and appliqué jackets in matching skirts set the bar high for luxurious statement pieces.
The intensely detailed collection brought a whole new meaning to knitwear. Blocked knit vests in fluffy fabric, tinselled leg warmers and face jumpers (with a tree dimensional weft hair on a ponytail) almost equalled abstract art. If that doesn’t convince, then how about the pastel coloured, tasselled mules with a modern louis heel? Or perhaps the multicoloured eyebrows, mustardy lips and faced headband masks?
