For Fall 2012, Rira Sugawara’s third Dans La Vie collection “Exciting Encounters” fused 60’s American pop art with shimmery leopards. As a matching collection with head-to-toe prints, the cohesive designs delighted with splashy mish-mash in bright but toned down colours – very pop art, very Richard Hamilton (albeit he is British).
Trench coats in various lengths, and jackets with fur-trimmed collars was Sugawara’s biggest selling point. Nicely tailored and with a hint of humour, they will most definitely go down well with the bravest of women. Pinpointing the word brave as wearing a clashing 90's power woman coat in leopard with electric blue mirror sunglasses is very brave and very fashion forward. Add a bright blue broken egg headpiece, a streak of yellow or pink hair mascara and a dishevelled 1890’s hairdo which all together reminds of a bird’s nest – very exciting encounter indeed.
