Jason Wu's Spring 2014 collection has a safe reductionist quality to it. With everything from swimwear to sweatshirts to red-carpet gowns, the collection is largely tied together through a loose flow of unobtrusive flesh-tones, ivory, mint, and black. Lingerie looks do add some character to what seems to be a very sellable collection. Although everything is usable and obviously put together by professionals, the collection needs to stand out with his own voice, which, for better or worse, is an expectation for a designer of Wu's celebrity status.
