Dark ombré effects of Rothko paintings form the basis of Elie Saab’s Fall 2014 collection. Mark Rothko’s paintings are some of the most visually stunning material in the art world, with entire chapels literally dedicated to them, and the results here are no less stunning. The clean new graphic direction really push the modernism here while maintaining Elie Saab’s classical elegance. The only shame is that collection showed right after award season, so we’ll have to wait a while until awards season restarts to get the full effect of the collection.
