Comme des Garçons’ Fall 2014 collection works the sweatshirt-tied-around-the-waist look. If you took your sweatshirts that you tied it around your waist like you did in middle school, except you tied a thousand of them all over you, then that’s pretty much the gist of the collection. And some kids tried different variations with different coats or sleeves placements, and Rei Kawakubo did some different looks here as well. Ultimately the execution will be toned down as it hits retail, but surely the concepts here are completely different from anywhere else, and that works great at clearing the mind and forcing one to rethink the basic ideas of fashion.
