Vivienne Tam delves deep into the elements of Chinese cosmology for her inspiration for her Spring 2013 assortment. The Five Elements of Chinese Cosmology are composed of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. Each color is associated with its own category of shape, color, texture, and power. Clearly Tam has mastered her alchemy, displaying a deep comprehension of the art through her combinations of fire triangle with metal circle, and water weave with wood column and earth square. Geometrically inspired eyelets, necklines, embroidery, and (new) jewelry combine in cosmologically corresponding colors in a way that strategically unite the elements. Tam's light, structured, chic, and clever line has us weak in the knees and ready for spring to start soon!
