WORDS - MEGAN AVERBUCH, PHOTOS COURTESY THE BLONDS

Known for their one-off, hand made, one of a kind pieces, the Blonds have outdone themselves this season. By far the biggest party and the most fun runway show of New York fashion week, the Blonds definitely did not disappoint. Pre-show, designer David Blond predicted their most extravagant show yet. Extravagance is not a strong enough word to describe the spring/summer 2012 collection. This season's Playboy collaboration brought more glitz and glam than any other runway could ever be capable of.

Unbelievable, intricate beading sparkled to the sultry, booming beats. Over-the-top doesn't even suffice when it comes to words for the sexy, lingerie inspired pieces. Dripping with rhinestones, decorated with fur ball "bunny tails," shining with mirrored stone appliques, the models strut down the runway in equally-as-adorned, studded Christian Louboutin shoes. Not shy of color, or anything for that matter, bold reds, purples, and blues dominated. Nudes, golds, black, and white were merely present to offset the brights, with bunny masks topping off the looks. Down to every last detail, the Blonds did not miss one opportunity to add glitter to the show, right down to sparkle encrusted fingernails, it seemed that not one body part was left without some shine!

To close out the show, each model appeared in the classic, black and white, bunny costume, one of the recognizable trademarks by Hugh Hefner's Playboy empire. Designer Phillipe Blond, who opened the show in a shimmering number, took on the final look in an amazing, fantastical version of the "bunny suit" and worked the runway like a God (or should we say, goddess?). Besides being an absolutely rocking show, the Blonds attracted a crazy crowd of socialites and celebrities alike, clad in insane outfits one might not even dare to don on Halloween. Sexy and for the confident woman only, the Blonds presented a decadent, entertaining, elaborate collection that has a slim chance of being outdone or overshadowed this New York fashion week.
