                                                                                          Izmaylova Spring 2012

WORDS - BRAD PALMER, PHOTOS - MARC AITKEN.

Silk, suede, feathers and embellishment, the Izmaylova woman is most certainly one of luxury and glamour. It seems unsurprising then, that designer Antonia Izmaylova hails from Russia, a country renowned for it's statement evening wear.

Fusing influences from her Russian origins with a sleeker, more refined aesthtic, Izmaylova created wearable yet impacting pieces that were dying to be showcased on the backs of the beautiful at the most glamorous of events. Panelled floor length dresses of silk, suede and feathers, in a palette of black, pale rose, burnt orange and gold, accentuated the fitted, hourglass sillhouette of the collection.

And, while many pieces were evidently more suited to an evening affair, this was not exclusively the case. Shorter, thigh skimming dresses, silk shorts and embellished blouses offered a more wearable daytime element, without loosing the sense of decadence infused throughout the collection.
