Houghton's Spring 2013 collection was playfully vintage and classically modern - easy enough to take you from work to play. The setting alone - the Highline on top of the Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking district - was shockingly simple yet elegant as the models strutted down the runway in sheer lace pieces with vintage collars and simple buns. Deep, rich blues with black lace cut outs were a significant theme, especially paired with a long black gem stone necklace, as a reminder of what it was like when Audrey Hepburn was around. Simple nude nails and sandals were elegant and not overpowering with white and red as another significant color scheme even more vintage-esque then the rest of the pieces. Houghton is a line to keep your eye out for in the future.
