Cotte D’Armes’ Spring 2013 collection was a hit. Elevating the basics in menswear and womenswear and putting a fresh edge on them. Clarence Ruth, who looked so sharp himself, kindly explained his inspiration for the collection he designed by saying it was “Navy Seal with a splash of biker.” The biker influence came through in the metal studs decorating the denim vests and the tough leather detailing and knee patches shown both on the men’s and women’s denim. The details are what really set this denim apart from the rest. Distressing and bleaching were shows, all in the perfect spots. The shirts were a looser fit which was perfect with the slim, skinny jeans. Some looks were styled with added accessories including roped belts and black hats to pull it all together. Each look presented stood out on its own giving a whole new outlook on staple wardrobe pieces.
