Talk about sport-chic, Y-3 took NYFW by storm this season with a completely wearable, completely current-with a touch of that Japanese futuristic feel. We're talking about a Yohji Yamamoto collaboration here, and a completely fun collection. Young and versatile, the Y-3 customer is the girl-(or boy)-about-town.

With total edge and a downtown cool, each piece can double as work out gear or something for your big-night-out-ensemble; Y-3 had it all. Separates ruled the runway in the form of jackets, capes, t-shirts, shorts, skirts and pants. Large ruffles gave masculine cut womens' jackets a feminine touch, while the men's jackets were clean and tailored. Asymmetrical cuts were interesting, with long tailed jackets and shorts with legs of different lengths.

Yamamoto is sure to infuse his signature Japanese style, and did so with grace. Yamamoto-esque plaid accents and checkered print popped up more than a few times, and with a palette based mainly on the basic black and whites, color blocking in red and blue was bold. Backpacks proved useful and even fanny packs made their way down the NYC runway, a trend that took off on the runways overseas last season. Fresh faced with a shining red lip, all of the girls had their hair tied back, with just enough teasing to be sexy.

All the men exemplified the athletic type with a true fashion sense After all, Dwight Howard is one of their biggest clients, and not to mention, he was sitting front row to get first dibs on the season's standouts. And of course, to top off every look-and as a product of Adidas, sneakers were the shoe of choice to strut down the catwalk.
