It seems that people love Vena Cava more every season. This is with good reason as the edgy design duo continues to release fun, edgy pieces that women want to wear. Their show always has a little kick to it. This season they started with a runway show, then each model perched on a mental ladder rather than retreating backstage. Once all the models had taken their places, people were free to mill about and examine the collection up close and personal. The 80s were still very much present at Vena Cava in the form of an acid wash denim bustier dress and a vest made of safety pins. (Do I hear a DIY in the distance?) Sleeves were handled with visible skill as wide fisherman's netting descended from a strong shoulder in one instance and in another coral and white fabrics were woven together in a tribal pattern. The entire show was fun and viewer friendly, as the designers mingled with the crowd and live music from The Fiery Furnaces provided an excellent backdrop.
