The True Religion 2011 swimwear collection added a bit of rock-and-roll to the brands overall hippie vibe. Rock's hard-edged metal studding and fringes showed up in many of the pieces, complementing the other more colorful and playful pieces. Nylon fabric and animal print brought a bit of 70's glam, which should keep the collection's fashion direction current.
MEGAN - We saw a lot of fringe, lot of studs, a little bit of diversity out there. What was the inspiration?
FAWN - The inspiration of the brand, we take from the mother-brand True Religion Jeans. It's always hippie-retro chic, sexy retro 70's girl, the little careless malibu girl, but this year we added in that glam and glitz, and we added real denim and special fabrics that wash out, special fabrics that look like nylon, Italian fabrics that are just amazing and out of this world.
MEGAN - So what's the girl that's wearing this?
FAWN - I think it's a little bit of everybody, like I said we have the Vixen, then we have the young girl that's gonna throw in a tie-dye and a pair of cut-off shorts, but then you have the girl that's going to be in Vegas at the pool, just chilling not even getting her toes wet.
MEGAN - Lot of fun!
FAWN - Yah did you like it?
MEGAN - I loved it! I'm all about fringe, studs.
FAWN - You look a little hippie-ish.
MEGAN - A little hippie, a little boho, a little bit of everything.
