Qiss Qiss Swimwear 2011

WORDS - BOBBY MOZUMDER, INTERVIEW - MEGAN AVERBUCH, PHOTOS - OMAR MOZUMDER, VIDEO - CHRIS RUSSELL

Qiss Qiss, the new diffusion line from Aqualara's Reyhan Sofraci, was presented immediately after the Aqua di Lara show in Miami.  Targeting a younger, flirtier market, with some ruffled lace trim, the varied line brought a bit of old romanticism to the much harder-edged Aqualara.  Like the Aqua di Lara line, the collection consists of several separate stories to bring quite bit of variety.  There were harem pants, lots of cover-ups, hippie detailing, lingerie inspiration, sequins, beading, embroidery, straps, geometric prints, on a mostly bright color base.

FutureClaw was able to chat with Aqua di Lara/Qiss Qiss creative director Reyhan Sofraci after her runway show in Miami.

MEGAN - Let's talk about the new line, Qiss Qiss, it's a little more fun, a little more flirty.

REYHAN - We wanted to introduce that to people who just want to have fun. We have that kind black leathery, we call it Lolita, It's very flirty, it's got that peek-through skin color underneath. We wanted to have something that was for more of a contemporary junior customer that really enjoys flirting and having and fun with the frills and the details.

MEGAN - Is the Qiss Qiss customer a younger girl?

REYHAN - Yes. It's definitely more I would say for the teenager.

MEGAN - One who wants to have fun? Go romping on the beach?

REYHAN - Go walking on the beach, get attention, strut her stuff, it's definitely for the younger girl.
