Always based on dance and the joy of living, music plays a large role in designer's Lourdes "Luli" Hanimian and her brother-in-law Augusto Hanimian's lives and they constantly interpret this through their collections.
With their roots in Cuba, and a home base in Miami, the luxurious rhythms and vibrant cultures radiates throughout the collection and embody a certain energy and aura. Feathered mambo dancers accompanied by a bongo drummer opened the show to get the 2012 collection presentation started. Seductive, sexy, and sophisticated while at the same time, playful, energetic, festive, always eclectic, witty, and innovative with artfully placed embellishments. Often pegged as the style leader in the swimwear market, this 2012 collection featured a little bit of EVERYTHING. Print heavy, with cutesy polka dots mixed with bold florals, girly fruit motifs mixed with sexy shining lurex, dazzling sequins, and color, color, color. Fringe, suggestive cut out placement, rouching, and ruffles were flirtatious. Nothing short of a party, this runway presentation was a true crowd pleaser with a balanced mix of high-fashion, wild and completely wearable swim suits.
