I look forward to G-Star raw every season because the production on the show is remarkable. At the back of the Hammerstein Ballroom, five white tubes lifted, one by one, to reveal models who stepped forward onto the triple runway. The choreography was great, the music was rockin' and the clothes had a modernized 40s vibe. Models had a pin-up feel with ruby red lips and finger waves. Several women wore high-waisted, high-cut shorts in navy and white or drop-waist dresses, while men showed suits and trenches that were sleekly tailored from the waist up. From the waist down, on both men and women, the ubiquitous harem pant dominated the runway in a variety of lengths and fabrics, including a women's denim variety with frog closures paired with a classic Chanel-esque azure and white jacket. And in fact, that silhouette was repeated often during the show: the sleek fit jacket with the looser pant or short. G-Star also showed a few prints, in particular an interlocking diamond pattern that showed up on a streamlined women's trench and a men's day jacket. When designer Pierre Morisset came out to take his bow, the crowd showed him how highly they approved of his work.
